When introduced in Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace, Darth Maul was quickly the stand out character. With his evil demeanor, black and red makeup, and double sided lightsaber, audiences were obsessed with this new Sith Lord. Though he was cut down too early at the end of Phantom Menace, it would be the Star Wars animated shows Clone Wars and Rebels that would give Darth Maul new life and transform him into one of the best villains in all of Star Wars. Without the dedicated time to developing Darth Maul, he may well have been just a ...

I like how in Phantom Menace he just tries to kill a kid for no reason and would have no idea that he's Anakin Skywalker. He just saw a kid and tried to run him over. Lol. Solo was one sequel away from breaking Star Wars canon forever because Han Solo has never heard of a Jedi or the force when he met Luke and they were going to have him square off with Maul and the Crimson Dawn just for fan baiting. Honestly if the prequels had kept Maul they might actually be good. "Killing" him was an enormous mistake

5:20 You see it that way, but honestly it's better if Pixar, and the movie industry as a whole for animation, just worked on getting THE voice and not THE actor. Animation's downward spiral, in some parts, is because the need to hire big name actors for their movies, which often hurt the performance and movie as a whole than helped it. Many VAs who were "big names" were just terrible choices and it still rings true. I notice some people excuse it a little more than before even, maybe that's a generational thing or maybe it's buyer's remorse in some scenarios, but often times VA is a skill not for actors who are used to putting their faces on screen. I hope this trend means they focus more on VAs performing the part, because it could end up helping the inflated costs a little bit more. Frankly the new Disgust was also very good, didn't miss Kaling at all. Hader is notable in his performance and definitely wasn't the same, but I was able to still enjoy the movie.

I just finished reading and to me, it was showing how our characters went there and back again and used their experiences to save their home. Theirs and Saruman's situations are completely inverse. Saruman was given every opportunity to turn back from hatred and evil but he refused everything offered to him. Frodo took an impossible journey, and essentially sacrificed his life for what he knew was good. The result is that Saruman's hatred completely ruined him and even after destroying Frodo's home, he's treated with mercy, and more in focus, pity. Faramir says : 'Do not scorn pity that is the gift of a gentle heart, Eowyn!' and Gandalf's famous line about the 'pity of Bilbo' reveals how intentional this theme is. Saruman scorns the pity of others for himself 3 times in this book, his pride and hatred corrode him while Frodo now stands very tall above him, essentially forgiving him for trying to destroy him and everything he loved after he just went to hell and back to save the world. It comes off like a parable.

I think what most people miss about the TBBT's cast is that Howard & Raj were more close to the reality, most guys have similar struggles that they did, I think that's why people accepted them as a part of the show though initially thry were just an after thought or supporting characters for the story. You might not know someone like Sheldon Cooper & someone as kind as Leonrd but Howard & Raj are people in our friend circle.

I like the line, to the effect of, luckily there was a car there to break your fall..... how did you know there'd be a soft cushy windshield to land on.... I mean there is some give in that, because it breaks yet largely stays together, I think realistically the force would go thru the windshield, not just create a spiderweb pillow to dream up bigger stunts on. Also I would be remiss not to mention, so Dom's last resort attack is to turn himself into a ballistic seal torpedo, deadly in its own right, rue the day you see that shaved cranium barreling towards you in surplus of 5 miles per hour at a downward trajectory.

I have always like James Remar as an actor. He plays an excellent bad guy and good guy as well, but I don't think he would have been as good as Michael Biehn, because of the reasons you stated. I've always looked at Mr. Remar as more of an action star, where Mr. Biehn seems to be able to flow from action to drama more readily. I also think it was a mistake to kill off Hicks and Newt, they could have done that within the third film rather than in between the movies.

I have very different thoughts about all the different movies. The original set came out WAY before I was born. But I really like the first two. The third is already weakening. And the next I almost always forget The 2001 film only came to my attention shortly before the new set. No wonder, I was 4 when that one came out. I heard that it's awful. And curiosity made me watch. What I heard is true. It's easily the worst ape movie. Putting inconsistencies and an open end that was never touched on again. The new movies are really cool. They're a spectacle. And feel like a sequel to Escape from the Planet of the Apes in a way. The weird talking monkey from War mentions he grew up in a circus. And where did Cira put her newborn intelligent baby? Just this time, we follow the origin of the monkey uprising. Monkeys keep getting smarter, humans get dumber. Even the human leader in War ended was a mute idiot, killing himself with his last bit of intelligence.

I forget how young I was when I saw this but I watched almost any movies playing in a theater. It came out around the time I realized people actually think gods are real and that was traumatizing for me. Especially finding out adults did. My mom wanted me to decide my own religion and learning there were so many made me think. It's like Santa. You find out it's just fake moral stories! I went to Sunday school for a little bit when I was really little and it didn't make sense to me. So I thought everyone would be happy to hear that hell isn't real. But literally ended up sitting, facing a corner with a paper cone on my head. Then there was a pizza party but I couldn't go, instead I was taken out for pizza with the priest or pastor or whatever you call them, and his family and told me strange things. When I told my mom about it all she got mad and took me out. Later around the time this movie came out I mentioned in school that God isn't real and that got everybody including the teacher upset. Then I saw my step dad praying at his bed (That abusive bastard) and realized adults think it's real too and suddenly I felt like the entire world is insane! So when I saw this movie and realized it's one of those fake stories people obsessed about. I felt mad and misled. I still can't believe in such things. Makes AA a bit difficult but I just ignore those parts now. Oh boy, the guy running the treatment center I was at had a huge problem with me not believing. By that time I realized people like me are called atheist and he couldn't believe that I couldn't believe. He made treatment so difficult for me and kept singling me out and refused to let me graduate, as others were there for a couple months, it took me 8. I don't think treatment should be religious. It wasn't for the first month it was psychological and science based, actually helpful. Then suddenly I'm hearing about giants and we used to live forever until sin or something... I got in trouble for saying if they lived forever, how did they die? I relapsed immediately out of spite.
